Haven’t received your old refunds? Read this.

Have you still not received your Income Tax Refund from Assessment Years 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12? This may be because you e-Filed but did not send the ITR-V to CPC Bangalore within 120 days.

Well, you have another chance now. You can send the ITR-V before the extended deadline of 31st March 2014 and the Tax Department will process the return within six months.

This extension is applicable for tax payers who e-Filed for Assessment Year 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Remember, you have to send the ITR-V by speed post only and should preserve the receipt received from the post office as evidence.

Check ITR-V Status and Download ITR-V

If your refund from those assessment years is held up, you should check if it is because of non-receipt of ITR-V from the Income Tax Department. Here’s how you check and then send the ITR-V:

  1. Go to https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-Filing/Services/ITRVStatusLink.html and enter your PAN number and AY.

  2. Check the status. If it is “ITR-V not received”, then you need to download your ITR-V and send it across.Income Tax Department has still not received your ITR-V
