A lot of tax payers who hold an aadhaar card and have mentioned it in their income tax return form are asking us this question.
Do they still need to send their ITR-V?
You can do one of the following –
– send the ITR-V
– e-verify using EVC code through aadhaar OTP or net banking.
Mention of aadhaar number in your return does not relieve you of verifying your tax return. The income tax department has introduced various means of verifying your tax return, besides the ITR-V. And using one of these means to e-verify is a critical step to your return filing process. (You may have to revise your return if you fail to e-verify it).
Here is how you can e-verify via EVC – click here.

If you are not able to successfully use the 2 methods listed above, you can always send the good old ITR-V.
